Two Attractions of Chengdu in my memory

When I was young, I visited some attractions in Chengdu. The following attractions are always in my memory.

Qingcheng Shan

Qingcheng Shan

Attraction Highlight

Qingcheng Shan(Qingcheng Mountain青城山) is 60km from Chengdu. This mountain can be visited as a day trip. During the Han Dynasty, it became a center of Taoism when a Taoist master made the mountain his home.

Wenshu Monastery

Wenshu Monastery

Attraction Highlight

Arguably the most beautiful and well preserved temple in Chengdu is the very active Wenshu Monastery. Worshippers light candles and incense, constantly encompassing the temple in a thick perfumed smoke.

Leshan

Leshan

Attraction Highlight

The city's relaxed atmosphere is just the right prescription for sore muscles after some tough hiking. The giant attraction of the city is the world's largest Buddha statue. It's 71m high and you'll feel infinitely small just compared with one of the Buddha's statue.

Emei Shan

Emei Shan

Attraction Highlight

Emei Shan is the highest of Chinese four holy Buddhist mountains, rising 3,099m above sea level about 170 km from Chengdu. Buddhists believe the mountain is home to Samantabhadra - Patron of the Lotus Sutra and Bodhisttva of Perrvading Goodness.
